Replace
How much does it cost to repair
a camera or projector?

and type of problem. Here is a general range:
 |

|

$129 - $399 |
When
I get an 'estimate' is that price guaranteed?
- Providing an estimate on a camera or projector
is a lot like doing an estimate for a car repair. The most accurate
estimates can only be achieved if we have the camera or projector
in our facility, so that our trained technicians can evaluate
it. We are happy to provide you with an estimate via phone or
email and we will try very hard to repair your unit for the quoted
price. Keep in mind that even your best attempt at describing
the problem may not be accurate once our technicians open up your
unit. If the cost to repair exceeds the estimate, we will contact
you before proceeding. To request a quote, please visit the 'How
to Receive Service' page.
Is there some troubleshooting I can try
before sending in my camera?
- There are some common problems that you can
correct yourself and avoid having to ship your camera in for repair.
Visit our 'Troubleshooting'
page to check for some of these issues.
What are the typical kinds of
problems United can repair?
- Some of the most common repair issues we
see are damaged LCD screens, malfunctioning flashes, malfunctioning
lenses, broken battery doors, and worn springs or hinges. All
of these problems can generally be repaired for much less than
the cost of a comparable new unit.
How can I find out if my unit
is under warranty?
- Visit our 'Warranty Information'
page for some helpful information and links to the manufacturer's
website.
Can my manufacturer's
warranty be denied for any reason?
- While each manufacturer warranty policy can
be different, there are some fairly common exclusions. Most warranties
do not cover water damage, sand damage, or impact damage as the
result of a drop or fall. If you have an extended warranty that
covers accidental damage, these types of things are usually covered
and United can service your unit at no charge to you.
How long does a repair typically
take?
- United Camera has a large team of technicians and a huge inventory
of parts. This means that most of our cameras ship out within 24hrs
of us receiving them. More complicated repairs or those where parts
are hard to find can take longer. Give us a call at 866-488-8227 and
we can give you an idea what to expect for your particular unit and
problem.
What if I send my camera in
for an estimate but decide not to repair it?
- We are happy to either ship your camera back
to you or dispose of it in accordance with all state and federal
waste codes.
Does United Camera have a warranty
for the repairs it performs?
- Yes. United Camera warranties its repairs
for 6 months on conventional cameras and lenses, 90 days for digital
cameras and projectors. This warranty applies to the parts and
labor that United serviced.
How can I check the status
of a repair?
What information do I need to
include with my camera shipment?
- Please create a packing list that will contain all
the important information and instructions for shipping your unit
to us.
Should I include my accessories
with my camera shipment?
- Not unless the accessories are related to the problem. Our test labs
have batteries, power cords, and memory cards for just about every
camera ever made so we can repair and test your camera or projector.
How do I format my memory card?
